Men's Basketball Season Preview: Logan Leads Roadrunners Into New Era in 2019-20

Men's Basketball Season Preview: Logan Leads Roadrunners Into New Era in 2019-20

A new coach, a new system, and a new era will be the hallmark of the Roadrunners' men's basketball program in the aftermath of a 2018-19 season that proved to be one of the greatest in school history.

First year head coach Will Logan takes over the reigns of the team from former coach Will Wareham, and he hopes to lay a solid foundation in the upcoming 2019-20 season that will benefit the program for years to come. Logan, a former Bridgeport University assistant coach and standout player at Franklin Learning Center in Philadelphia and Lock Haven University (PA), took over the team in July 2019. He has been busy recruiting players and hiring his staff to prepare for the new season, which begins Saturday, November 2.

"We've put this roster together quickly, so it will be a steep learning curve," said Logan. "But we do have some talented athletes, and they will be quite competitive once they learn our system and get some experience together."

Logan will count on one returning player from a year ago in forward Stan Martin, who has the potential to average 12 to 15 points per game. Additional top players are primarily freshmen who will provide support around Martin throughout the season.

The Runners will not likely be in contention for the Garden State Athletic Conference championship hunt, but Logan hopes they will continue showing improvement as the season progresses and hopefully snatch a Region XIX playoff berth.

The Runners open the season with tough opponents in Bryant & Stratton (NY) on Saturday, November 2, and Onondaga CC (NY) in the Annual Onondaga CC Tournament on Sunday, November 3.
