GAME DAY: Roadrunner Men's Basketball Hopes to Continue Progress vs. Tough Middlesex Team

Roadrunner Men's Basketball Coach Will Logan is starting to see his players step up -- and that is critical with the difficult Spring 2021 schedule that Logan's team has encountered which includes a home game against visiting Middlesex College tonight in a 6 pm start.

Sophomore guard L.J. Carter provided plenty of offense in a 93-80 win over host Sussex County on Saturday when he pumped in a game-high 30 points. He went on a scoring spree in the second half with 12 straight points to clinch the win. Guard Mel Robinson came off the bench to contribute 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 steals to add to the team's first win of the campaign.

"L.J. (Carter) is revving up his game and showing us what we know he can do," said Logan of the 6-2 guard out of Newark, DE. "He got into a groove and he couldn't be stopped."

Off the bench, Logan received a solid outing from Robinson. "His intensity coming off the bench was huge," commented Logan. "Mel (Robinson) was all over the court and turning the momentum wherever he could."

The Runners also received solid outings vs. Sussex from guards Nick Sambour and Ryan Kennedy, and forward Ryan Skeie.

Logan hopes his team will continue turning the corner against another tough opponent tonight in Middlesex, whom they lost to earlier in the season.

"We've had a lot of mental mistakes early on, and teams like Middlesex will turn the tables on you," he said. "We made a lot of progress in the Sussex game and hopefully will continue in that direction."
