Taylor, Ransom Help Roadrunners Stay in Playoff Hunt in Key Win Over Sussex CCC

Sophomore forward Laddis Taylor knows that the sky's the limit for the Roadrunner Men's Basketball team -- as they displayed during Saturday's impressive 83-63 victory over visiting Sussex County in a key GSAC and Region 19 contest.

Taylor scored 11 timely points while collecting 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals to support a strong Roadrunner offensive showing.

RCSJ guard Khayri Ransom pumped in a game-high 31 points to spark the win and help the Runners remain in the playoff hunt with their 10th win of the season. Guard Nick Sambour chipped in with 19 points.

"We've had some injuries and some tough situations this year, but we're confident it will come together -- like it did today," said Taylor. "We just need to settle in and keep believing in ourselves to reach our goal of making the playoffs. This was a lot of fun today."

The Runners had a tight fight on their hand in the first half, but guard Daniel Wellington drained a long three-point shot at the buzzer to give the host team a 39-35 halftime lead. The Runners never looked back as they outscored the Skylanders, 44-28, in the second half to seal the triumph.
