Roadrunner Men Hold Off RCSJ Cumberland in GSAC Battle at Home

The Roadrunner Men's Basketball team continued to move in a positive direction Tuesday night, picking up a hard-fought 68-59 victory over visiting RCSJ Cumberland and in the process winning their seventh game in their last 10 outings.

Three players handled the bulk of the scoring for the Runners, led by guard Keyshaun Sanders with 30 points, forward Chris Racobaldo with 13 and guard Alamin Young with 12.

The Runners opened up a commanding 41-24 halftime lead, and held off a furious Cumberland rally for the Garden State Athletic Conference win.

"We've had some injuries this year, but we have a few players stepping up and taking advantage of their opportunities," said Coach Brandon Williams. "We're in a great position right now and hopefully we keep improving."

The Dukes fought back in the second half in outscoring the home team, 35-27, and even pulling to within 3 points late in the game. But Racobaldo and Saunders hit some key shots down the stretch to seal the outcome or the winners.

Guard Ryan Roney led the Dukes' attack with 18 points as the visitors fell to 2-10 overall.

The Runners are off for the Christmas break and will return to action on Tuesday, January 9th with a road match at GSAC rival Ocean County College in a 7 pm tipoff.
